Whether you’re onboarding for the first time or troubleshooting a feature, there’s a good chance Tammy has played a role in your journey. Here’s a deeper dive into her role, background, and what makes her tick.

Q: Can you tell us about your role at WaveRez? What does a typical day look like for you?

Tammy: In my role at WaveRez, I help support our reservation system clients by providing technical support and onboarding new users. I also train them on the system, troubleshoot any issues, and suggest ways to improve their experience and increase online bookings. Additionally, I create training materials, help with marketing content, and work closely with our product and account management teams to keep everything running smoothly. I also gather feedback from clients to help improve the product. Thankfully, there is no typical day—every day is a new adventure with different challenges!

Q: What drew you to work in the watersport and boat tour industry? Do you have a favorite water-based adventure?

Tammy: While I did not grow up near the water, I have enjoyed water-based activities throughout my life – from fishing to wakeboarding, tubing, jet skiing, and just floating to watch the sunset, whether it’s on lakes or the open ocean. I started out as part-time help at WaveRez and ended up falling in love with both the company and the industry.

Q: If you could describe our company culture in three words, what would they be?

Tammy: Straightforward, honest, and innovative. The people here are fun, helpful, and really care about making our partners successful.

Q: What’s your favorite feature of our software, and how do you think it benefits our clients the most?

Tammy: For clients, the new calendar view that shows availability at a glance is a game-changer—it helps customers choose the best option that fits their needs, which can lead to more bookings. On the backend, I love the matrix. It’s like a one-stop shop where you can access almost any information or make changes instantly.

Q: If you could swap roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?

Tammy: I’d swap with someone from the dev team—but only if I could get a knowledge transfusion beforehand! As a people-oriented person, their ability to understand complex coding and “computer language” always amazes me.

Q: How do you stay connected to the outdoors and watersport culture outside of work? Any weekend activities you’re passionate about?

Tammy: I live on a farm, so outside of work it’s all about hay fields, fixing fences, and working with horses. But when I can, I try to get back to the coast for some fishing and to reconnect with the water.

Q: If we handed you a megaphone to talk to all of our clients, what’s one thing you’d want them to know?

Tammy: We want to see you succeed as much as possible, so please don’t hesitate to ask for help. And don’t forget to check out the support center, too! 😀

Q: In a world where anything is possible, what innovation or feature would you love to see added to our software?

Tammy: It would be awesome to integrate Remote Desktop access so I could actually see what clients are trying to explain to me. A mobile app with basic functionality like handling tips, reservations, and payments would be great too. Also, some next-level, badass reporting tools would be a game changer—something that can break down data into clear insights for clients, helping them make smarter decisions and ultimately boosting their sales.

Q: What’s something your co-workers might be surprised to learn about you?

Tammy: I used to compete as a figure competitor in NPC bodybuilding competitions, and most of my horses were rescues!
